Antidumping News Alert – Argentine Ministry of Production heightens scrutiny on imports subject to antidumping duties or preliminary dumping determinations regardless of their origin

On July 27, 2020, by means of Resolution No. 366/2020 (which will become effective on August 3, 2020), the Argentine Ministry of Production abrogated Resolution No. 494/2017 issued in September of 2017 by the former administration, which regulated the customs treatment applicable to products originating from countries subject to antidumping measures.

Argentinean government initiates dumping investigation against certain types of tape metric rulers from India

On March 3, 2020, the government of Argentina initiated a dumping investigation against exports of certain types of tape metric rulers from the Republic of India, products which are exported to Argentina under MERCOSUR’s Common Nomenclature (N.C.M.) 9017.80.10.

Argentina ratified the Trade Facilitation Agreement

On January 22, 2018 the Argentine Republic ratified the Trade Facilitation Treaty ("TFA"). The TFA was adopted by the member countries of the World Trade Organization ("WTO") at the Bali Ministerial Meeting in 2013 and entered into force on February 22, 2017.

On February 6 and 8, 2018, the IV Round of Negotiation for the Expansion and Deepening of Economic Complementation Agreement No. 6 (ACE 6) between Argentina and Mexico was held in Buenos Aires.

Argentina and Russia signed cooperation and market opening agreements

On February 8, 2018, the XIII Argentine-Russian Intergovernmental Commission for Economic-Commercial and Scientific-Technological Cooperation (COMIXTA) culminated in Moscow, where progress was made in the bilateral relationship between Argentina and Russia.
