The decree of necessity and urgency 70\/2023 issued by the President of the Nation in the General Agreement of Ministers (the “Decree”), which amends, among other measures, the Satellite Facilities Provision Regime.<\/p>\n

The main aspects contained in the Decree are:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. It incorporates subscription broadcasting services by satellite link to the definition of Subscription Broadcasting, which includes the broadcasting service offered by an ICT service provider that uses audiovisual content transmission technology based on IP protocol (IPTV), for the access of live programs and\/or linear television. It also incorporates it as a service that may be registered by ICT service licensees.<\/li>\n
  2. These services are regulated by Law No. 27078 of Argentina Digital, leaving the scope of Law No. 26522 of Audiovisual Communication Services, as it was for services with satellite link.<\/li>\n
  3. The Decree abrogates the obligation to request authorization from the enforcement authority to provide satellite facilities. The provision of satellite communication system facilities will be free. Registration is only required for their operation, for the sole purpose of coordinating the use of radio frequencies and avoiding interference with other systems in accordance with the regulations issued by the enforcement authority.<\/li>\n
  4. The provision of any TIC Service by satellite shall be subject to the general regime for the provision of TIC Services established by law.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
