All of the new CNDC members have previously worked or are currently working at the agency.<\/p>\n<p>The new President of the CNDC is Alexis Pirchio, an economist with a Magister from Universidad del CEMA in Buenos Aires. Mr. Pirchio has previously worked at the CNDC as Director of Anticompetitive Practices between 2017 and 2018. Since then, he has been the general manager of the economic consulting firm PYMNTS. He also has been involved with teaching activities in different universities.<\/p>\n<p>The new CNDC commissioners are Eduardo Montamat, Florencia Bogo, and Lucas Trevisani.<\/p>\n<p>Eduardo Montamat has previously been chief counsel (1998-1999) and commissioner (1999-2003) at the CNDC and has a PhD degree obtained in 2023 at the University of C\u00f3rdoba.<\/p>\n<p>Florencia Bogo is an economist that has been working at the CNDC since 2016, and since May 2019 she has been its Director of Mergers and Acquisitions Analysis.<\/p>\n<p>Lucas Trevisani is a lawyer who has a master\u2019s degree in finance from Universidad Torcuato Di Tella and has worked at the CNDC since 2016, holding the position of director for competition advocacy since 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, on December 14, 2023, Mr. Pablo Lavigne had been appointed as the new Secretary of Trade. Mr. Pablo Lavigne is an economist graduated from UCA (Universidad Cat\u00f3lica Argentina) and has a master\u2019s degree as well as a Ph.D. in economics from Universidad del CEMA. Prior to this appointment as Secretary of Trade, he acted as National Director for Foreign Trade Facilitation under Mauricio Macri\u2019s administration.<\/p>\n<p>Pursuant to Argentina\u2019s Antitrust Law No. 27442, until the National Competition Authority is created, the enforcement of the Antitrust Law is vested on the Secretary of Trade, which issues its decisions based on the non-mandatory reports issued by the CNDC.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Argentine government has appointed today the President and three commissioners of the Comisi\u00f3n Nacional de Defensa de la Competencia (CNDC).
