In addition, the import of waste for energy recovery or final disposal is prohibited, and facilitated the export of recovered materials in compliance with the Basel Convention.<\/p>\n<p>According to the new regulation, importing companies must present health and environmental safety certificates, a certificate or formal communication from the competent authority in the country of origin regarding non-hazardousness, or a sworn statement signed by the legal representative of the importer ensuring that the recovered materials they intend to import are not hazardous waste. The responsibility of companies includes (but is not limited to) the urgent return of any materials that does not comply with the regulations.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, exports will be carried out through applications in the form of a sworn declaration, supervised by the Secretariat of Tourism, Environment and Sports.<\/p>\n<p>The Secretariat of Industry and Commerce and the Secretariat of Tourism, Environment and Sports will be, within the framework of their scope of competence and in accordance with the provisions of the Decree, the Implementing Authorities of the Decree.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On January 3, 2025, Decree No. 1\/2025 (the \u201cDecree\u201d) was published in the Official Gazette, establishing an updated regulatory framework for the import and export of recovered non-hazardous waste in Argentina.
