By Decree No. 35\/2025, published on January 20, 2025, the Executive Branch amended the Argentine Food Code (AFC) to expedite the authorization process of the National Health Authority for imported products from countries with high sanitary surveillance and the export of domestic products.<\/p>\n
Imported products with sanitary certification issued by Australia, Canada, the Swiss Confederation, the European Union, the United States of America, New Zealand, the State of Israel, Japan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain, and Northern Ireland may enter the Argentine territory, without need to obtain any further authorization from the Argentinean authorities. Also, it will not be necessary to get a local permit for products from countries that use the international standards of the \u201cCodex Alimentarius\u201d (FAO\/WHO).<\/p>\n
In such cases, only the import affidavit must be completed, and the National Health Authority may not require additional requirements. They must also attach the \u201cmarketing authorization\u201d or \u201ccertificate of free sale of the product\u201d or similar document approved by the health authority of the country of origin.<\/p>\n
In the case of imports from countries with which economic integration treaties or reciprocity agreements are in force, the National Health Authority may also consider that the requirements of the AFC have been met after evaluating the food control system in each country of origin. In all other cases of imported products, the requirements of the AFC be complied with.<\/p>\n
Products exported must comply only with the requirements and restrictions imposed by the country of destination, without the National Health Authority being able to stipulate greater requirements. The exporter may request the corresponding certificates from the National Health Authority in cases where the country of destination so requires.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
