On May 11, 2022, Order No. 758\/2022 of the National Direction of Migration was published in the Official Gazette, through which the creation of a transitory residence visa for the so-called “digital nomads” was established. <\/p>\n\n
The purpose of this visa is to attract nationals from countries that do not require a tourist visa to enter Argentina, who due to their profession can travel and work from anywhere in the world \u2013by providing services remotely for individuals or legal entities domiciled abroad\u2013, and who have decided to settle in the country.<\/p>\n\n
The possibility of obtaining this residence will come into effect as of May 21st, 2022. The visa will be valid for up to 180 days and is renewable only once for the same term as the previous one.<\/p>\n\n
In order to obtain it, individuals must apply online and submit the following:<\/p>\n\n
An application indicating their personal details and the independent work activities that they are going to carry out, including a brief resum\u00e9 stating their experience in the field in which they are going to work and their level of studies or training.<\/p>\n\n
Valid passport.<\/p>\n\n
A 4×4 photo.<\/p>\n\n
Proof of the activity they will carry out \u2013 a contract, a company guaranty or proof of application for employment in Argentina, as well as certificates or receipts of income or fees-, stating at least one reference related to their occupation.<\/p>\n\n
Proof of the payment of the fee.<\/p>\n\n
For renewal, the following will be required too:<\/p>\n\n
Valid passport.<\/p>\n\n
Submitting proof of the income received for the services rendered during the residence.<\/p>\n\n
Submitting a certificate of criminal record issued by the National Registry of Recidivism.<\/p>\n\n
Having stayed within the territory for a period of not less than 50% of the term of the residence granted.<\/p>\n\n
Proof of payment of the fee.<\/p>\n\n
All the information provided for the processing of both applications must be legalized and translated into Spanish and will be in the nature of an affidavit, which will be verified at the time of filing the electronic entry procedure to the country or the application for immigration regularization in the system of the National Direction of Migration.<\/p>\n\n
During their stay in the country, those who have applied for this residence will get discounts on transfers and transportation, accommodation and coworking spaces, and benefits in terms of education, culture, and gastronomy. For example, the airline Aerol\u00edneas Argentinas will offer discounted tickets for “digital nomads” to arrive in the country and then to be able to tour around it. <\/p>\n\n
