A recent Human Rights Impact Assessment (\u201cHRIA\u201d) on Meta’s Expansion of End-to-End Encryption, written by BSR, an organization of sustainable business experts that works with its global network of the world\u2019s leading companies, has shown that the end-to-end encryption that Whatsapp applies to messages being sent through the WhatsApp application promotes the protection of fundamental human rights of its users, mainly the rights of privacy, intimacy, and freedom of expression. <\/p>\n\n
The HRIA concludes that it is necessary to work on a solution to the referred controversy which serves as a security measure for the detection and prevention of illegal activities and, at the same time, guarantees the confidentiality of the messages sent between users in order to protect their human rights.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
