{"id":8942,"date":"2023-01-24T13:02:44","date_gmt":"2023-01-24T16:02:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/allende.com\/sin-categorizar\/development-of-the-cbd-and-thc-certified-reference-materials-crm-02-06-2023\/"},"modified":"2025-05-21T12:17:44","modified_gmt":"2025-05-21T15:17:44","slug":"development-of-certified-reference-materials-mrc-for-cbd-and-thc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/allende.com\/en\/life-sciences-en\/development-of-certified-reference-materials-mrc-for-cbd-and-thc-01-24-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"Development of the CBD and THC Certified Reference Materials (CRM)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Within the framework of the Program for the Development and Production of Certified Reference Materials, the National Institute of Industrial Technology (INTI) developed the certified reference material (hereinafter \u201cCRM\u201d) of one of the main secondary metabolites of the cannabis plant: cannabidiol or CBD, used both for medicinal products and in the global food industry, with the purpose of facilitating access by the public and private sector, which is currently limited because it is an internationally controlled substance.<\/p>\n\n<p>The aim of the MRC is to allow local laboratories to quantify cannabinoids (bioactive molecules present in the inflorescences of the Cannabis sativa L plant), replacing imports and also contributing to the improvement of the accuracy and metrological quality of measurements, to enable traceability and greater quality control of industrial products derived from cannabis and hemp.<\/p>\n\n<p>In addition, INTI developed the MRC for Tetrahydrocannabinol (hereinafter \u201cTHC\u201d), the psychoactive component of the cannabis plant, in early 2022.
