On October 8, 2024, through Provision 173/2024 (the “Provision”), the Federal Administration of Public Revenue (hereinafter, “AFIP” or the “Administration”) appointed Mr. Eduardo Hernán Cimato as the data protection officer for AFIP.
The appointment is made within the framework of Resolution 40/2018 of the Public Information Access Agency (the “AAIP”), which approves the “Model Data Protection Policy for Public Entities”, which recommends state agencies, to implement a data protection policy and appoint a permanent staff member as the data protection officer.
This appointment aims to strengthen transparency in the management of personal data processed by AFIP, as it manages databases used for the application, collection, and oversight of national taxes, social security resources, and control of foreign trade activities.
