With the precedent set by Disposition No. 2/2023 of the Argentine Information Technologies Sub-secretariat -which approved the Recommendations for a Reliable Artificial Intelligence-, the AAIP launched a guide aimed at government authorities, companies, organizations, academic institutions, and other actors, both in the public and private sectors, who develop or use AI systems.
The guide defines AI systems within the category of automated decision-making systems, as decisions based on a predefined set of rules or algorithms, with the distinction that AI uses machine learning and adaptive tools.
Additionally, the guide identifies the main problems and challenges of AI, including the lack of legitimacy of the information fed into the system, privacy risks, the improper use of personal data, and potential biases that could affect the outcomes.
The guide concludes with a series of suggested practices for implementing the principles of transparency and data protection throughout all stages of the AI systems’ life cycle, from its design, verification of proper functionality, implementation, and operational monitoring.
