Creation of the Do “Not Call Registry”

Law No. 2,014 of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires provides for the creation of a “Do not call registry” in which telephone line owners who express their decision not to be contacted by telephone by companies using the telemarketing system may register.

Companies that use the telemarketing system to advertise, offer, sell and/or give away goods and/or services must log in to register users by going to www.buenosaires.gov.ar under the link “Do Not Call Registration” and completing the registration form. Once the required data has been provided, the company will be given a user password to know who the registered users are.

In accordance with the provisions of Law 3,175, registered companies must be notified every 15 days of changes to the registry.

Those companies that fail to register shall be liable to the indirect application of the sanctions provided for in Law No. 24,240 on Consumer Defense.
