Argentina initiates Sunset Review of antidumping duties on exports of certain types of straight steel manual hand saw blades from Sweden

On July 5, 2022, the Ministry of Productive Development of Argentina, by means of Resolution No. 534/2022, initiated a sunset review and a change of circumstancesinvestigation of the antidumping duties imposed against exports on straight high-speed steel manual hand saw blades and straight bimetal steel hand saw blades from Swedenwhich are classified under tariff codes 8202.91.00 and 8202.99.90. of the Mercosur’s Common Nomenclature.

The initiation of the sunset review investigation was requested by local producer Sin Par S.A.

The alleged dumping margin in relation to the exports from Sweden was estimated at 218.75%. Moreover, the National Foreign Trade Commission preliminarily determined that sufficient evidence exists as to the recurrence of harm to the local industry, which provides reasonable grounds for the initiation of the sunset review.

Until the sunset review procedure concludes, the dumping duties imposed on July 28, 2017, through Resolution No. 331 will remain in force.

Companies located in Sweden which export the abovementioned products to Argentina, as well as local companies importing them, can appear before the Ministry of Productive Development and request the questionnaires to participate in this investigation and be notified of the proceedings.
