Two trademark experts from Allende & Brea, Octavio Mitelman and Pablo Palazzi, were invited by the Center for Intellectual Property and Innovation (CPINN) and the Master in Intellectual Property and Innovation (MIPI) of the Universidad de San Andrés to lecture at a seminar on the use of well-known trademarks as keywords in sponsored link services, and the implications of the decision by the Supreme Court of Justice concerning Organización Veraz.
During their presentations, Pablo and Octavio addressed the keyword advertising phenomenon from the perspective of trademark law and unfair competition, offering a critical view of the approach adopted by the Court and its potential effects on markets and consumers.
We thank the organizing institutions for the invitation and congratulate all the panelists for their outstanding performance.
