The Data Protection Agency of Uruguay includes the United States amongst safe countries for international data transfers

The Data Protection Agency of Uruguay (hereinafter “DPA”) issued Resolution No. 63/023 (hereinafter, the “Resolution”), whereby the United States is now considered a safe country for the international flow of personal data.

The Resolution, which also includes South Korea as a safe country, follows the European Union Commission’s declaration on July 10, 2023. The declaration stated that transfers to organizations listed in the “Data Privacy Framework Listing” by the U.S. Department of Commerce were deemed appropriate.
