On May 22, 2024, the Ministry of Economy of Argentina by means of Resolution No. 91/2024, initiated an investigation for alleged dumping against exports to Argentina of mechanical and digital microwave ovens with or without grill with a capacity less than or equal to FORTY-FIVE LITERS (45 l) except for built-in ones, product which is classified under the Mercosur’s Common Nomenclature tariff position 8516.50.00.
The initiation of the dumping investigation was requested by the firms NEWSAN S.A.; RADIO VICTORIA ARGENTINA S.A.; and BGH S.A.
The alleged dumping margin for the opening of the investigation was estimated to be 17.84% for the export operations from China. Moreover, the National Foreign Trade Commission preliminarily determined that there is sufficient evidence as to the harm caused to the local industry of mechanical and digital microwave ovens with or without grill with a capacity less than or equal to FORTY-FIVE LITERS (45 l) except for built-in ones.
Companies located in China that export the abovementioned products to Argentina, as well as local companies importing them, can appear before the Ministry of Economy and request the questionnaires to participate in this investigation.
