By means of Resolution No. 81/2024 (the “Resolution”), the National Seeds Institute established the suspension of new registrations for operators of any category of the National Seeds Trade and Control Registry (Registro Nacional de Comercio y Fiscalización de Semillas) which work with the Cannabis sativa L. species (psychoactive cannabis). This suspension will be in force for 6 months, with the possibility of extending for another period of 6 months, beginning from the publication of the Resolution in the Official Gazzette.
Following the suspension, the Resolution mentions that the National Seeds Institute will proceed with controlling the registered operators and cancelling the registration of those who do not comply with the applicable regulations.
