The minimum stock capital for Sociedades Anónimas was increased to $30,000,000

The National Executive Power raised the minimum stock capital required to form Sociedades Anónimas and Sociedades Anónimas Unipersonales from $100,000 to $30,000,000, effective March 1, 2024.

This change was implemented through Decree No. 209/2024, which modified Section 186 of the General Companies Act No. 19,550. Section 186, in its amended wording, authorizes the Executive Power to update the amount as it deems necessary.

This change intensifies one of the main differences between Sociedades Anónimas and Sociedades de Responsabilidad Limitada, which do not have a minimum capital value established by law.
