By Resolution No. 132/2020 of April 1, 2020 (hereinafter, the “Resolution”), the Ministry of Productive Development created the Support Program for the National Production of Medical Equipment, Medical and Health Supplies, and Technological Solutions within the Context of the Coronavirus COVID-19 Pandemic (hereinafter, the “Program”).
The Program’s goal is to promote industrial, commercial and service companies, entrepreneurs and public and private institutions that develop productive and technological solutions in the Argentine territory (mainly in the health sector), which contribute to the approach, containment, treatment and mitigation of the Coronavirus COVID-19, through technical and financial assistance.
The Resolution clarifies that the direct beneficiaries of the Program are the companies, suppliers, entrepreneurs, public institutions and other productive units that contribute in the area of medical and sanitary equipment and supplies, as well as in technological solutions, their development and implementation, all related to the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, control and/or other aspects related to the Coronavirus COVID-19.
In particular, the Program refers to production of medical equipment, reagents and diagnostic kits, health supplies, medicines and vaccines, personal hygiene products and digital platforms, among other health technologies and related services, to address and mitigate the current epidemiological emergency.
The Program will:
A) Assist entrepreneurs, companies and their suppliers who need to increase their production to respond to a higher demand for medical and health products and services.
B) Assist companies, entrepreneurs and institutions who may have the capacity to develope technological and/or innovative solutions for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and/or devices that optimize the health response to the COVID-19 Coronavirus.
C) Promote the reconversion of processes and products of companies and their suppliers, to start producing goods and services of necessity within the scope of the health emergency and social distancing.
D) Improve the productivity of companies who provide technological services to companies involved with input/supplies, medical equipment and with the production chain in the pharmaceutical sector.
E) Promote the formation of groups or collaboration schemes with the purpose of producing goods and/or services for the containment and mitigation of the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.
