Argentina becomes 33rd country to sign Convention 108+

On 30 November 2022, the enactment of Law No. 27.699 was published in the Official Gazette of the Nation, by means of which Argentina adheres to Convention 108+. The purpose of the regulation is to ensure the protection of individuals with regard to the automated processing of personal data.

The ratification of Convention 108+ evidences a constant development in relation to data protection in Argentina, and contributes to the country maintaining its recognition as a country with an adequate level of protection. In addition, accession to Convention 108+ provides legal certainty and predictability in international relations with regard to the regulation of personal data protection.
